Welcome Back - Send Off Reception - An Event to Remember!
“I can say it was one of the most inspirational events I have ever attended in my life and that's almost 70 years of living!” Eric Ericson, RPCV - Colombia, 1963 - 1965
Thanks to all those who participated in our spring Welcome Back - Send Off Reception. We ended up bringing together over 225 Boston Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and Peace Corps nominees, an incredible turnout! We had a wonderful evening that celebrated all those coming back and all those leaving soon. Click here to see photos from the event!
This season we tested a new format that enabled everyone a chance to engage in different activities throughout the evening. Returning volunteers were able to mingle with BARPCV members while nominees and their friends/families had the opportunity to ask critical questions to the Peace Corps Boston Regional Office. Then everyone came together to hear two fabulous speakers, Jen Hashley (RPCV-Honduras) and McKenzie Boekholder (RPCV-Zambia) both from the New Entry Sustainable Farming project, a Tufts University project which assists new immigrants and other beginning farmers to begin agricultural enterpises in Massachussetts.
It was certainly a wonderful event and it was great to see so many people together celebrating! It also helps us to remember that we are a community and our presence in and around Boston is making a difference in everything we do.
Thanks for making the Welcome Back - Send Off Reception such a huge success!
