an award winning crime novel. a blockbuster translated into many languages; a fast reading thriller; look for the movie.

Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson
Set in the easternmost region of Norway, Out Stealing Horses begins with an ending. Sixty-seven-year-old Trond has settled into a rustic cabin in an isolated area to live the rest of his life with a quiet deliberation. A meeting with his only neighbor, however, forces him to reflect on that fateful summer.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter & Sweet by Jamie Ford
It is based on facts of Japanese in Washington state being forced into internment centers. The novel is also a love story of a young Chinese teen and a young Japanese girl. The story goes back and forth between the 1980s and the 1940s.
