This is a relaxing and fun event to welcome new RPCVs to Boston and into the BARPCV community, for existing members to mingle, and to hear more about the organization and upcoming activities.

Snacks and drinks will be in abundance!

Book Club - The Orphan Master's Son

Sep 17 2016 - 7:00pm

After a happy and relaxing summer to be had by all, we will resume our fall program by reading The Orphan Master's Son, by Adam Johnson. This novel deals with intertwined themes of propaganda, identity, and state power in North Korea. It was awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

We will meet on Saturday, September 17 at Barbara Scott Nelson's vacation house in Gloucester, MA. Email Barbara at to ensure you receive the email in mid-late August about this meeting.

Book Club - The Rosie Project

Jun 16 2016 - 7:00pm

The June meeting of the BARPCV book club will be the last of the season. We will be reading The Rosie Project by Australian author Graeme Simsion. The novel centers on genetics professor, Don Tillman, who struggles to have a serious relationship with women. With a friend's help he devises a questionnaire to assess the suitability of female partners, and it goes on from there.

Our hosts for the evening will be Diane McCormack and Tom Tarranto. If you plan to come, please email them at so they can make arrangements for food.
