Annual New Member Party 2013

Every September, BARPCV hosts a party for new (and not-so-new) members. Besides a fun time, the goal of the party is to welcome new RPCVs to the Boston area, allow members a chance to meet each other and to learn more about what BARPCV is doing and how to get involved.

Board members and activity chairs attend, make a short presentation on their activities and needs.

Appetizers and drinks provided. 

Location near Central Square T-Stop on the Red Line.  

So that we can get a count of people coming, please RSVP if you plan to come.

International Development Book Club Meeting

Semi-annual WBSO, with author of Strange Borderlands

What: Welcome Back/Send Off event to welcome back new RPCV's and send off new volunteers! This is a great opportunity to connect with newly returned or new to Boston RPCVs.

Our featured speaker is Ben Berman, RPCV Zimbabwe '98-'00. He will talk about his book, Strange Borderlands, his experience and what he is doing now.

Peace Corps boat cruise in Boston Harbor

Join the RPCV community for a cruise around Boston Harbor! 
The cruise will be held on the evening of Friday, June 28th, 2013 from 7-9pm. The cruise includes a 2-hour cruise, open bar and hors d’oeuvres. The Lexington will depart from the World Trade Center and cruise along Rowes Wharf and the U.S. Constitution. Tickets will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis. For tickets or any questions about the boat cruise, you can email BARPCVs at president@barpcv.org

Book of Poetry, Strange Borderlands, RPCV Berman, readings and book signing

RPCV author, Ben Berman, is reading and signing books at the AWP conference at Hynes Convention Center on Saturday, March 9 from 11:00am -12:00 pm at the Grub Street Booth (at the conference). Ben's book of poetry draws from his experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zimbabwe from 1998- 2000 and his return back to the states.
