Sign up to Volunteer at the Boston Marathon with BARPCV

18 Feb 2022 (All Day)

Registration for this event has passed

For the past several years, the BARPCV community has volunteered to hand out water, Gatorade, and good cheer to runners at the Mile 23 Hydration Station. While April 18th (aka Marathon Monday) may seem like years away, we hope you are ready to start thinking about volunteering at the 2022 Boston Marathon! (Check your calendar before registering to make sure that you are available because it's not a holiday for everyone.)

Volunteer Registration opens on January 5th and closes on February 18th. In order to help make the registration process as simple as possible, please follow the steps below carefully. We encourage you to sign up ASAP so that we can see your lovely face on Marathon Monday.

We know that the RPCV community makes the best volunteers, and we are known for having an amazing hydration station with dedicated, hard-working people. Even with this past year's pandemic, the BARPCV water station was one of the best attended and ran smoothly.

Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will need to provide proof of vaccination prior to participating. There may be future mitigation efforts to be enforced by the BAA, which will be communicated to all volunteers at a later date.

Ready to join us? Head to the BAA Athlete’s Village Website to register!

  1. Click here to access the 2022 application starting on January 5th at 10a.m.

  2. Log in to your BAA Athletes’ Village account.

  3. Navigate to the “Volunteers” tab within Athletes’ Village.

  4. Select the “To Volunteer Click Here” button.

  5. Follow the instructions on the application. Be sure to choose that you are NOT a medical volunteer, and you are NOT a radio operator volunteer.

  6. At step 5, select “Join an existing group” and input:

Group name: Boston Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers

Passcode: BM2022
The group name will automatically update to Hydration Station, Station 23.

  1. Please take a screenshot when you get to the confirmation page, or ensure that you received an email with your confirmation code.

We will send information about what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect once the BAA sends acceptance emails in March. Please feel free to forward this information to friends or family members who might be interested in joining us this year.

As always, we are happy to answer any questions you have about the race and its logistics. Please Contact:
