Volunteer with BARPCV at the Red Cross Food Pantry on June 27th!

Join BARPCV to distribute groceries to members of the community at the Red Cross Boston Food Pantry. The Red Cross Food Pantry provides a variety of foods including canned and dry goods, fresh meat or fish and fresh produce to hundreds of families in Boston. We are looking for five volunteers to help distribute groceries on Saturday, June 27th. Our volunteer shift is from 8:30am -noon. Some lifting is required and volunteers will be on their feet for the shift. The Food Pantry is located near 1010 Massachusetts Ave, in Boston, not far from the South Bay Shopping Center and accessible by public transportation by the Number 10 bus. CLEAN WATER - ADVOCACY ISSUE 2009-2010

The BARPCV has responded to its member’s interest in mobilization, education, and advocacy around a central issue with the creation of a new advocacy chair on its board. Laura Khan (Fiji Islands, ’06-’08) will coordinate efforts by and for the BARPCV community related to this year’s issue- clean water - which won the member’s poll.

The 2009 BARPCV Photo Contest

The Boston Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Association is happy to announce the first annual 2009 Photo Contest. We’re asking members of the BARPCV community to submit their best photographs from countries where Peace Corps Volunteers serve. Selected photographs will be displayed at local coffee shops, restaurants and galleries. All members of the BARPCV community will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite photographs. Winning photographs will be featured in this year’s BARPCV greeting cards series. Additionally, the following prizes will be awarded:

  • 1st place: $100 restaurant gift certificate and two sets of greeting cards
